Tate K-Kids
  • Tate Elementary School hosts one of our active K-Kids Clubs here in Van Buren.
  • The K-Club at Tate currently has 20 club members and 1 adult sponsor.

  • K-Kid members are involved with LSI (Litter Scene Investigation) at Tate Elementary.  Some of the members are leaders on the LSI Leadership Team.  Other members sign up to help conduct Litter Scene Investigations.  Tate Elementary is one of four schools in the state recognized as being a Litter Free Zone.  Because of the students' work on LSI, Tate Elementary was awarded a $1500 grant from the Keep Arkansas Beautiful foundation.  Funds are made available through a grant sponsored by Wal-Mart.
 

  • At Tate Elementary, K-Kids are involved in various activities including Reading Party events.  The members are contributing to the total number of words read by the student body.  Their goal for this year is a half a billion words!

 

 

  • The current K-Kids Vice President receives awards at Tate Elementary's Academic Achievement Celebration.   The members are well-rounded and participate, support and sponsor a variety of activities at Tate Elementary.

  • Tate Elementary K-Kids club members have elected officers for the 2009-2010 school year.
